ABCD encourages members and interested parties to sign the petition below to support a separate Standard Occupational Classification for Direct Support Professionals (DSP's) within the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Currently, Direct Support Professionals are inaccurately classified in labor reports under other positions, which do not adequately represent the skill requirements of a Direct Support Professional. ...

on April 3 2018 at Rowan University in Glassboro and the Assembly Budget Hearing on April 9, 2018 at the State Annex.
Donna Bouclier, ABCD and Patti Carlesimo, past President of ABCD spoke of the need to increase the DSP wages by $1.25 per year
over 5 years.
Donna reminded the Senate Committee that the "good hearts" of DSPs should not be taken for granted. They are the glue that keeps the heart of the community system going.

Representing the first cohort are three ABCD members: CAU, a Board Member; Allies, a DD Alliance Member; and The Arc of Ocean, a Support Coordination Alliance Member.At Thursday's meeting, the presenters shared "Lessons Learned" to help guide the rest of our members toward understanding what to expect as they prepare for their Fee-for-Service transition. The presenters, part of the first cohort, shared lessons they learned.
