ABCD Announces New Board Treasurer
Rachel Herrington Elected Board Treasurer
ABCD is pleased to announce the election of Rachel Herrington, Executive Director of New Jersey Elks Developmental Disabilities Agency (NJEDDA) as Treasurer to the ABCD Board. Rachel will be completing the remaining term of Barbara Greenwald, Chief Operating Officer of The Center for Family Support who recently retired from CFS.
Rachel has been a member of the Board and an indefatigable champion of our organization for over three and a half years. It’s not surprising that her dedication to and excitement about the people she works with and for are the first things you notice when you meet her.
Prior to joining NJEDDA, Rachel was in education administration for over twenty years with the Gramon Family of Schools and with New Beginnings in Fairfield, NJ. Rachel is currently completing her doctoral studies at Kean University.
Established in 1947, The North Jersey Elks Developmental Disabilities Agency (NJEDDA) is a private non-profit organization operated by a volunteer Board of Trustees comprised of representatives from local Elks Lodges (Paterson, Fair Lawn, Pompton Lakes, Clifton, Passaic Valley, and Wayne) and other concerned citizens. The New Jersey Elks have a long history of service to the community. Through their philanthropic work, they support NJEDDA agency along with Elk’s Camp Moore, providing camp scholarships for children. NJEDDA is proud to have the men and women of the Elks supporting their staff to help their students reach their fullest potential.
NJEDDA programs and services include the Toddler Program – Children attend at no cost to parents; School Programs – Students are referred by their local school district child study team and attend at no cost to parents; and Adult Services – Adults ages 21 and over are referred through the Division of Developmental Disabilities.
