Congressional Visits

Bette and Laura of Our House (pictured here) join ABCD in a visit to the Mountainside satellite office of Congressman Tom Kean Jr. to advocate for continued Medicaid funding for residential and day services. As constituents, both explained why these services are so important to them as individuals and to their peers.

ABCD spent much of the month of February advocating with NJ’s Congressional Delegation to protect Medicaid funding, with a particular focus on the NJ members of the House Majority (3) and the Huse Energy and Commerce Committee’s Health Subcommittee (2). Our thanks to all our members and friends who continue to send out emails, make phone calls, and visit.  Special thanks to the member agencies which joined ABCD for in-district targeted visits to put a face on the issue – Children’s Center of Monmouth County, Heritage Homestead, LADACIN Network, Matheny Medical and Education Center, Our House and PAFACOM.
