DDD’s Support Coordination Competency and Capacity Building Steering Committee

Published On: March 10th, 2023Categories: News

The Division and the Boggs Center will co-chair this time-limited committee which will be charged with the review and adoption of a core set of competencies based on nationally recognized competency and skill sets for Support Coordinators (SC).  The core competencies will aid in the development of a statewide training framework, which will include mandatory pre-service training, initial onboarding training, and ongoing professional development.

In addition to creating a tiered framework for SC competencies and certification, frontline SC Supervisor competencies will be reviewed and adopted as well.   Based on these competencies, existing training will be identified, and new training will be developed to address potential gaps.

The committee will be co-chaired by DDD and the Boggs Center and will include representative’s stakeholder groups including Individuals with Disabilities, Families, Division staff, Advocacy Organizations, Service Providers, Support Coordination Agencies, and Frontline Support Coordinators.
