Engagement: Tools to Prioritize Connection over Compliance
Leanne Delsart was the featured speaker on June 16th on Engagement. Leanne, MS, is the Integrated Services Manager of Strategic Initiatives for Wraparound Milwaukee and Owner of LND Consulting, LLC. For the last 19 years, Leanne has spent almost two decades working with children and families affected by trauma, adversity as well as mental health and behavioral health challenges.
The session was well attended by our members and gave practical tips as well as descriptive scenarios on the do’s and don’ts of engaging in active listening and how to empower those with whom we care for. Information on how we listen, the history behind how we converse and impart information as well as people’s histories and perspectives are all crucial to understanding our engagement techniques and how our caregivers can increase their understanding.
