Good day, Chairperson Vainieri Huttle and members of the Assembly Aging and Senior Services Committee. My name is Cathy Chin and I am testifying on behalf of ABCD. Thank you for the opportunity to testify in support of A4618 as amended, which revises and updates law and encourages ethical conduct in guardianship arrangements.

I would like to thank Assemblyman Murphy for working with PLAN/NJ to correct an unintentional oversight in the bill which could inhibit an individual’s ability to practice self-determination.  As an indefatigable champion with whom this community is very fortunate to work with, the bill clearly expresses the assemblywoman’s vision and hopes for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
