March and April Visits
Dr. Josephine Shenouda, Director of Early Intervention Services in DOH, joined the EIPA to discuss her 2026 goals of accountability and communications. The division will continue to focus on increasing the number of referrals by working directly with the NICUs, expanding the successful pilot screening program through WIC in Newark and Cumberland County, increasing accessibility and modernizing and automating their 1-800 system to reflect the times. The department remains interested in eliminating the family cost share to improve access and has asked for an additional person in their finance department of 3 who will work specifically with parents regarding FCS. Director Shenouda will be asking for a rate increase for Medicaid, changing Medicaid billing rules, and enrolling eligible families into Medicaid.
