On June 9, 2021, the Assembly Human Services Committee under the leadership of Chairperson Downey who is also the bill’s sponsor, took an important step in the creation of a customized care model to prevent emergent and acute care crisis for individuals with developmental disabilities who also have a mental illness or mental health related issues.
