November Visit

Published On: December 5th, 2025Categories: News

Kaylee McGuire, Deputy Commissioner for Aging and Disability Services in the Department of Human Services joined ABCD board members at their November meeting to talk about advocacy successes, priorities, and strategies. The Deputy Commissioner has a wealth of experience as a member of Governor Murphy’s policy team followed by over 4 years as DC at DHS. Kaylee was sure to mention the significant investments made in DDD over the last 8 years and described the provider community as going above and beyond; despite the level of pressure and scrutiny, when DDD providers are asked to help, they do it anyway.  The example that stood out is COVID – provider/DDD collaboration and leadership was critical to the success we achieved.

And now we begin to turn our attention to the new administration, to get to know, educate and partner.  We will miss the collegial interactions with Commissioner Adelman, Deputy Commissioner McGuire and their team at DDD.  Despite numerous disagreements, we did some good work together.
