Improve Today. Flourish Tomorrow

ABCD and its sister organizations participate in 22 formal, 12 informal, and numerous ad hoc meetings with DDD leadership every year, in addition to routinely reviewing draft guidelines and communiques for the division on an as need basis. Here we represent both new and established agencies which cumulatively provide all DDD community service types across the state. The knowledge and experience we bring to these working groups and routine negotiations enables us to engage in robust discussions on micro and macro levels.

Every so often at these gatherings state staff is sure to remind us that by no stretch of the imagination do our members represent the norm; though we are considered the cream of the crop, our advice and recommendations must account for the numerous agencies which barely meet minimum standards. As professionals devoted to serving the IDD community, this fills us with pride in ourselves and uneasiness for the community.

When you are a member of ABCD, it is understood that at minimum your agency values the provision of high-quality service and support. ABCD helps member agencies realize this through alliance and advocacy.

From our monthly board meeting to our quarterly human resource forum, we provide our executives and their staff numerous platforms which create trusted environments where they can come together and share ideas, strengthen ties, collaborate, and make connections. These alliances empower our members to stay competitive and adapt to industry standards on an ongoing basis.

From regulations to rates to remote support, ABCD continually develops and advocates for policy changes with every level of government. Since our inception, ABCD members have impacted the state’s vision and direction of our industry.

ABCD membership is a “tell.” It tells the DDD community at large that you are devoted to the people you serve, improvement and progress are your metrics, and leadership is your responsibility. Through alliance and advocacy, we help members improve today and flourish tomorrow.
