ABCD’s Jeanne Ashmore welcomed Sara Sherman once again, this time to present Putting the P in

DSP.

Sara outlined the challenges that Direct Support Professionals face since the new title implementation.  She outlined the problem, focusing on the “what” to do and the possibility that staff have been less clear on the “how” of it.  Sara spoke of defining the role, clear expectations and training and monitoring the role as steps to gain success in the role of a direct support professional.
