Supporting Change
The September 19th ABCD presentation on Supporting Change was well attended by our members. Our presenter, Leanne Delsart, is the Integrated Services Manager of Strategic Initiatives for Wraparound Milwaukee and Owner of LND Consulting.
Leanne’s presentation on Supporting Change covered the basics of the method known as Motivational Interviewing, which is used as a best practice to communicate with the people our members serve as well as each other. Active listening, reviewing changes that are “for” a person rather than “to” a person, and keeping the person at the center of the process are but a few of the topics covered. The methods taught are supposed to lead to an increased understanding, respect and feeling heard
