ABCs at ABCD Presentation: Psychological Safety

On March 21 Jeanne Ashmore welcomed over 40 members of ABCD attending Jonathan Meagher-Zayas and Nicole Dama of Equity Warrior Strategies, LLC zoom presentation, Psychological Safety:  Necessary for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Success.  Jonathan and Nicole ensured that the learning session was itself, safe, “what is learned here, leaves here; what is shared here, stays here.”  And so began the hour of presentation, break out groups and final questions.  The presentation and discussion focused on how to allow staff to always show up as themselves. Four stages of growth include: inclusion, learning safety, contributor safety and challenger safety.  Food for thought: Though we have diversity in the IDD field, it hasn’t yet migrated to leadership.  It was a terrific presentation, and we will be excited to have Jonathan and Nicole back to ABCD to help our members in their efforts to grow and improve as providers and agencies.
